EBSCO recently revised their policy regarding organization-wide remote access user names and passwords. With the new policy, a password, once reset, will work for 365 days from the day it was reset, although it can be reset sooner. EBSCO will expire current passwords at various points during the year based on how often an organization has used the resource. If your organization’s password no longer works or you want to know when your current password(s) will expire, contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or (800) 509-6673. There are several ways to deal with changing your password.
- Contact us at email@example.com or (800) 509-6673. We can change your password or tell you when your password expires.
- Use EBSCOadmin. We can issue MOREnet contacts (or others designated by those contacts) with credentials for EBSCOadmin, which will enable those contacts to track password expiration dates and change them as needed. Note that if your HeritageQuest account uses same login information as your EBSCO account, changes in the EBSCO password that need to be reflected in the other account much be submitted to MOREnet Technical Support so the password change can be completed by ProQuest. ProQuest passwords must be at least eight mixed-case characters, with at least one number and one special character.
- Change remote access methods. EBSCO allows several other methods for remote access. Learn more about remote access with EBSCO. EBSCO also now accepts Google accounts, but there are several steps to go through to enable it. This option allows users to authenticate with an EBSCOhost personalized individual account, but requires additional steps to create the individual account.
