Here at the MOREnet offices, we were excited to see that our former Executive Director, Bill Mitchell, received the Richard Rose Award from Internet2.

Former MOREnet Executive recognized for K-20 achievement.

Mitchell is currently leading the Great Plains Network (GPN), however, prior to that role, he spent 20 years as our executive director.  Many of the staff he helped guide, as well as the mission that he helped create are still very much a part of the fiber of our organization today.

The Rose Award is named in honor of Richard Rose (1947-2007), who was an early leader in the national Internet2 K-20 Initiative. The Rose Award is given annually based on criteria such as commitment to the K-20 mission, recognized innovation in the community and leadership and mentoring qualities.
